The big phat guide for 1.11 rogue dps
Howling Destiny Slasher - 42 Bladedancer/24 Ranger
Macro's:
#show Quick Strike
cast Quick Strike
petcast Maul
petcast Bite
#show Precision Strike
cast Precision Strike
petcast Maul
petcast Bite
Do not macro Keen Strike, macros don’t work with ability queuing and cause you to lose DPS. You’ll need to have Quick Strike, Precision Strike and Keen Strike on your bar and use all 3. Thanks to Gyle for discovering this.
You still want to macro your pet abilities into your other attacks though.
Normal Rotation:
Quick > Keen > Precision > Keen > Dauntless Strike
Repeat
Every Minuite use headshot for the damage increase buff
Dualism Rotation:
Always pop Dualism immediately following a Dauntless Strike. This rotation is basically simple, but there’s a twist.
Quick > Keen > Quick > Dauntless
Keen > Precision > Keen > Dauntless
Repeat
However, on the final set, you’ll need to do one more Keen so that it doesn’t bork your next normal rotation, so the full rotation will look like this:
Quick > Keen > Quick > Dauntless
Keen > Precision > Keen > Dauntless
Quick > Keen > Quick > Dauntless
Keen > Precision > Keen > Dauntless
Quick > Keen > Quick > Keen > Dauntless
You will always do your normal rotation, except during Dualism.
Use Rhythmics in order of highest to lowest DPS contribution: Dualism, Double Coup, Blade Tempo. In a raid setting, you want to try to time your best cooldown (Dualism) with Flaring Power, so you may need to tweak this based on the encounter. Right before the fight begins, you can pop Sidesteps (and a trinket if you trinket-swap) to get 100 AP from the BD crystal proc, but after that, its not worth it since its on the GCD.
51 Bladedancer/15 Ranger
A lot of this will be a repeat from the 42 BD spec, also keep in mind that fights with melee disconnects will result in a considerable dps loss
Normal Rotation
Quick > Keen > Precision > Keen > Dauntless Strike
Repeat
Dualism Rotation
Always pop Dualism immediately following a Dauntless Strike. This rotation is basically simple, but there’s a twist. Bear with me.
Quick > Keen > Quick > Dauntless
Keen > Precision > Keen > Dauntless
Repeat
However, on the final set, you’ll need to do one more Keen so that it doesn’t bork your next normal rotation, so the full rotation will look like this:
Quick > Keen > Quick > Dauntless
Keen > Precision > Keen > Dauntless
Quick > Keen > Quick > Dauntless
Keen > Precision > Keen > Dauntless
Quick > Keen > Quick > Keen > Dauntless
51 Marksman/ 15 Ranger
This is the top ranged performer for single target during my time on PTS. Its also a very simple rotation, so it won't take any time at all to learn. With a purge, ranged interrupt and good single target damage, this spec will reclaim the top spot from Ranger as the go-to raid spec for almost any situation.
Macros:
#show Empowered Strike
cast Empowered Strike
cast Swift Shot
#show Rapid Fire Shot
cast Rapid Fire Shot
cast Deadeye Shot
The rotation is pretty simple. Mash the macro to 5 CPS, then mash the finisher macro. The only thing to be aware of is using your cooldowns: Bull’s Eye, Decoy, Strafe and Quick Reload.
51 Assassin/ 10 Marksman/ 5 Nightblade
Buffs:
Lethal Poison
Debilitating Poison
Hidden Veil
Macros:
Main Builder:
#show Serpent Strike
suppressmacrofailures
cast Serpent Strike
cast Backstab
cast Savage Strike
cast Swift Shot
cast Poison Malice
Opener:
Stealth > Exposed Weakness > Jagged Strike > Main Builder to 5CP > Impale
Main Rotation:
Main Builder to 5CP > Final Blow
Main Builder to 5CP > Final Blow
Main Builder to 5CP > Impale
When [Slip Away] is off CD
Slip Away > Jagged Strike
When [Thread of Death] is off CD use
Jagged Strike CD
#show Thread of Death
suppressmacrofailures
cast Thread of Death
cast Jagged Strike
For MinMaxing damage:
There's two additional DoTs that will increase DPS, which are Puncture and Fiery Spike . I would recommend using them when you are confident with the main rotation.
Main Builder > Puncture> Fiery Spike x3 > Final Blow
Then continue using the main rotation while keeping an eye on the buffs applying them just before they drop off.
